In the gothic the disposal of Rochlitzer Porphyry rose more and more because churches and castles were heightend and adapted. Because of this the stone mason craft became more important. At that time the Rochlitzer guild song of the stone mason ermerged (1462).

In addition to that the range of use of Rochlitzer Porphyry became bigger and bigger. Some of the mentionable buildings of that epoch are:

  • castle of Kriebstein near Waldheim (1382-1407)
  • gothic chorus building and nave of St. Kunigunde in Rochlitz (1417-1499)
  • massive ashlar bridge over river Mulde, Rochlitz (1433)
  • St. Petri church, Rochlitz (1450)
